Dear students

Please find attached the examination schedule for the June 2024 examination block. As I indicated in the beginning of the year during orientation we will be moving the re-examinations for subjects to the examination block after the first examination for the subject. All re-examinations are thus not written during the January 2025 re-examination block.

Important information

The examination results for the April examination block were released on 22nd May 2024. You thus have until 4th June 2024 to apply for examination perusals on your student portal. All students that applied for examination perusals for the January 2024 re-examination block will also receive an opportunity to review their examinations if they already applied. The examination perusal is an examination review. These reviews will take place on 7th and 14th June 2024.

All students that did not get an opportunity to write during the April examination block due to being blocked for outstanding fees or outstanding documentation for admission will be granted a first examination now. These students must apply for a sick examination and indicate in the application on your student portal that you missed the examinations in April due to this reason. All these will of course be verified.

Students that were sick during the examination and applied for a sick examination, not a sick test, and attached acceptable proof will be granted a first examination during the June examination block.

I have seen several wrong applications that have been submitted since the release of the examination results by students on their student portals. I have already indicated about the examination perusal and sick examination applications. If you managed to obtain a pass or 50% or more for a subject and failed to obtain a final result of 50% after the first examination was written you will automatically be re-enrolled for a re-examination during this examination block. Do not apply for a re-examination on your portal. A student that received a written warning and a 0 for the examination after the results were released will not be granted a re-examination.

The only students that may apply for re-examination after their first examination are students that managed to obtain a final average of 50% or more after this examination for the subject. Not for students that failed. Please note that the last result will be captured and not the better of the two.

All sick test applications that have been submitted since the previous examination period until 11th June 2024 will still be processed and the sick tests written on 14th June 2024.

You may apply for special permission for examinations on your student portal if the following conditions were met:

  • All assessments were completed for the subject you are applying for.
  • Obtained a class average for a subject completed this quarter of 45% - 49%.
  • No dishonest conduct for any assessment for the subject you are applying for.
  • Motivation provided why special permission should be granted.

If any of the conditions above are not met, don’t apply as your application will be declined.

With any response you receive for an application that was submitted please read the feedback carefully, as it will be delivered to your student e-mail address.

You have to write at the campus where you are registered. The only exception to this is if the subject was provided to you online. Then you can write that subject online. If this is applicable to you, you can still use the facilities at any campus if you wish to do so.

Good luck with the upcoming examinations.
