Dear students

Please find attached the examination schedule for the November 2024 examination block. As I indicated in the beginning of the year during orientation and in the June and September 2024 examination schedule upload, re-examinations for subjects will occur during the examination block after the first examination for the subject written. All re-examinations are thus not written during the January 2025 re-examination block.

Important information

I have seen several wrong applications that have been submitted since the release of the examination results by students on their student portals. If you managed to obtain a class average of 50% or more for a subject and failed to obtain a final result of 50% after the first examination was written, you will automatically be re-enrolled for a re-examination during this examination block. Do not apply for a re-examination on your portal. A student that received a written warning and a 0 for the examination after the results were released will not be granted a re-examination.

The only students that may apply for re-examination after their first examination are students that managed to obtain a final average of 50% or more after this examination for the subject. Not for students that failed. Please note that the last result will be captured and not the better of the two.

All sick test applications that have been submitted since the previous examination period until 11th November 2024 will still be processed and the sick tests written on 15th November 2024.

You may apply for special permission for examinations on your student portal if the following conditions were met:

  • All assessments were completed for the subject you are applying for.
  • Obtained a class average for a subject completed this quarter of 45% - 49%.
  • No dishonest conduct for any assessment for the subject you are applying for.
  • Motivation provided why special permission should be granted.

If any of the conditions above are not met, don’t apply as your application will be declined.

With any response you receive for an application that was submitted please read the feedback carefully, as it will be delivered to your student e-mail address.

You must write at the campus where you are registered. The only exception to this is if the subject was provided to you online. Then you can write that subject online. If this is applicable to you, you can still use the facilities at any campus if you wish to do so.

Good luck with the upcoming examinations.
