Dear Student,
Please take note of the following rules in preparation for your exams. Strict adherence to the rules below is important.
General Exam Rules
- Students must wear their BC uniform to write their exams. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action. Please see https://www.belgiumcampus.ac.za/uniforms/ for more information.
- Students must provide a suitable form of identification. This can be either a student card, identity document, passport, or driver's license. Students without proper identification will be required to purchase a student card before being allowed into the examination venue.
- Students need to be at the venues by 08:15 and 13:00 respectively.
- Read the examination instructions in AssessmentQ carefully and comply with them.
- Students may not ask the invigilator to explain an examination question. If a student suspects an error in the question paper they should answer to the best of their ability and inform their lecturer once the examination has ended.
- Students should conduct themselves in a manner befitting an examination. Even though they are not writing at a campus venue, they should behave as if they were in the exam venue.
- Students must follow the invigilator’s instructions. Disobeying the invigilator’s instructions may result in disciplinary action or disqualification from future examinations.
- No other books, notes, add-ins, online tools, or any other tool or resource may be used unless expressly allowed in the examination instructions.
- AssessmentQ's time remaining will not be used to indicate the end of an exam. The invigilator will monitor the start and end times manually. Standard durations can be found in the instructions for each examination and the invigilator will track the duration.
- You may only have AssessmentQ open in your browser. Additional sites and software are allowed only if required for the examination. Any other open browser tabs will result in disciplinary action.
- It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they successfully upload the required files for any upload question. Upload time is included in the duration of the examination, and you will not be able to upload once the time has expired.
- Unless otherwise stated, no books, memoranda, notes, maps, pencil boxes, bags, hats, headphones, photographs or other documents or paper (including unused paper) or other aids of the examination instructional offering, except for that which is supplied and stated on the question paper, may be in the candidate’s possession.
Online Exam Regulations
- Students will be required to stay online with their camera switched on for the entire duration of the examination. If the student finishes early, they must remain online for the entire first hour of the examination.
- It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their hardware, software, and internet connection are stable and will not disrupt their examination.
- Students are only allowed to use one screen during the examination.
- After joining Hybeflex, all students must share their entire screen to ensure accurate invigilation.
- Students must ensure they are in a private environment with good lighting and a working webcam. Students should not be disturbed while writing the exam. Speaking with another person during the exam is seen as a contravention of the rules and may result in disciplinary action or the receiving of a 0 for the exam.
- Smoking or vaping during the exam is not allowed.
- It is advised that online students prepare a backup plan in the event load shedding occurs. If this is an anticipated problem, students should make arrangements in advance to write at their nearest campus.
- If you have any questions, please send a private message to the invigilator(s). KEEP THE PUBLIC CHAT CLEAR, messages will be deleted.
- Students must ensure they enter Hybeflex using their correct full name and surname.
